A great design can only go so far if the shirt doesn't fit right.
At FCE, we always say fit and cut are the secret ingredients that separate “just another promo tee” from a shirt people actually love to wear.
Fit is about how the garment hugs (or flows around) the body.
Cut refers to the garment's shape—crewneck vs. V-neck, relaxed vs. slim, cropped vs. full-length.
When choosing fits and cuts for your merch, start with your audience.
-
A younger, fashion-forward crowd might love boxy cuts, oversized tees, or cropped hoodies.
-
Corporate teams often prefer classic, tailored fits that look sharp but feel comfortable.
-
Athletic audiences appreciate performance cuts—slightly fitted, moisture-wicking, move-with-you designs.
One nonprofit we worked with offered both standard and women's-fit tees for a charity race.
Result?
Everyone felt comfortable—and proud to wear the gear.
Fit is comfort.
Comfort is confidence.
And confident wearers turn into loyal brand ambassadors.
